Services

What types of sequencing do you offer?
  • Amplicon sequencing (16S / ITS) for community profiling
  • Shotgun metagenome sequencing for functional potential and deeper taxonomic resolution
  • Whole genome sequencing for isolate characterisation
  • Quantitative PCR to confirm sequencing results

Long‑read sequencing is available to enterprise customers and is rolling out to all plans.

What bioinformatics is included?

Quality control, taxonomy, functional genes, secondary metabolites, ecological preferences and a biohazard screen (pathogens, antimicrobial resistance genes, virulence factors). Bioinformatics is included with every sample we sequence and priced per sample only for data you upload.

What is the turnaround?

2–4 weeks from sample reception for sequencing projects, depending on service and volume; the current lead time is shown in the portal when you order. Analysis starts within hours once data is ready, and a report on existing data takes 1–2 hours.

Do you offer custom services?

Yes. Enterprise customers get access to specialty sequencing, custom report templates and direct integration with their workflow. Contact us.

Pricing and data

What does the project fee cover?

Data interpretation, your first report and three months of storage. Sequencing, simulations and additional reports are added per unit: see the calculator.

Who owns my data?

You do. Genedance acts as a data processor. You keep full rights over raw sequencing data and every derived analysis, and can export everything at any time.

Where is my data stored?

In Switzerland, encrypted in transit and at rest on ISO 27001 infrastructure, under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection and the GDPR.

Is my data safe with AI models?

Eugene runs on a dedicated inference stack in Switzerland; nothing leaves the country and no third‑party AI provider sees your data. On paid plans, client data is never used to train models.

Is the free account really free?

Yes. One project and up to 50 samples, no credit card. It is the fastest way to judge whether the platform fits your work.

Working with the portal

What inputs do you accept?

Physical samples shipped to our laboratory, metadata as CSV or entered in the portal, and raw FASTQ files if sequencing was done elsewhere.

What do I receive?

A PDF report and a live viewer in the portal, publication‑quality figures (PNG/SVG), processed tables (CSV), raw FASTQ files, and the methods text and code that produced every result.

Can I regenerate or customise reports?

Yes. Reprocessing is unlimited: rerun with other parameters, reference databases or sample groupings at any time. Audience‑specific versions can be generated from any published scientific report; enterprise customers can use their own templates and branding.

Can I trust AI‑generated results?

Every analysis runs from a defined, reproducible toolbox and every report is checked before publication. Each result carries the code that produced it, so any bioinformatician can audit or rerun the work.

What support is available?

Documentation and email support for everyone; priority response and an onboarding session for subscribers. Customers open tickets directly in the portal.

Samples and logistics

How much DNA do I need?
  • Amplicon: 10 ng of extracted DNA per sample, A260/A280 1.8–2.0
  • Metagenome: 100 ng of high‑molecular‑weight DNA, DIN ≥ 7 recommended
  • Whole genome: 1 µg of genomic DNA, DIN ≥ 8 recommended; isolate cultures can be sent directly

Or ship raw samples and add DNA extraction to your order.

Are there minimum batch sizes?

Yes: samples for amplicon, for genome and metagenome, for qPCR. This keeps library pooling cost‑effective and quality consistent.

What if a sample fails quality control?

Failed samples are not charged. We notify you with the reason and guidance for resubmission; samples that fail after passing initial QC are credited.

Can I track my shipment?

Yes. The portal shows every step (reception, QC, library preparation, sequencing, bioinformatics) with an email at each transition.
